"Better advertising for the noise from the waves in the Bohuslän archipelago can not be found."
From a review in Camera Natura, the Nordic region's most exclusive photo magazine, September 2021
It is most likely that you never have seen the archipelago of Bohuslän depicted with the type of photography that Erik Malm presents in this book. Erik published his first book about the archipelago in the autumn of 1999; a book in traditional documentary photo style. Since then, he has spent more than fifteen years training and developing his very own version of the admittedly difficult photography technique “ICM”, Intentional Camera Movement, which is deliberate camera movements during longer exposure times. He simply paints with his camera as a paintbrush. All images are single exposures, not double or multiple exposures. The aim has been to be able to create more emotional expressions, and not just to picture something beautiful in front of the camera. As a former professional “symphonic” musician, the music is to Erik the basis for the photographic creative process. So – please join a poetic photo-musical journey in the archipelago that so many have taken to heart – the archipelago of Bohuslän.
