Painting with Light - the Magic World of ICM Photography. (Under progress...not possible to buy yet!)
”Animated” pictures, intentionally created with a camera’s movements during longer exposure times. In English, this technique is called ICM, Intentional Camera Movement.
For almost twenty years, the Swedish nature and art photographer Erik Malm has specialized in creating and improving a completely own version of this recognized very difficult way of creating pictures. With his background as a professional symphonic musician, the perseverance and the purposefulness were already there, as well as the perfectionism which is required to give full artistic freedom to create the desired expressions. Because the final goal is the expression and the sense, not the technique itself. That the pictures become “musical”.
With this book of inspiration, let yourself into a picture world, somewhere between the traditional painting and the photography; a picture world that it is likely that you hardly ever or never have seen. A picture world where light has been painted with the camera as a paintbrush.
